Exploring a Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have found plenty of interesting creations from small studios. Yet, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer includes a protagonist that is literally a turd attempting to travel to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."
Player controls is straightforward: press a single jump button. Throughout one hundred fifty stages, you'll face boss fights and unlock a market to acquire customizations for your poop character.
Plan your movements precisely, since one error forces beginning again. Bounce off floating orbs to hurl the poop to new heights, traverse crumbling platforms, and touch switches to reveal new areas. Earn currency and use them on tougher levels where the action intensifies.
In terms of design, the experience boasts vibrant level designs and a killer soundtrack. The simple graphics featuring morphing geometric shapes could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.
While it's hard to think of similar titles where you are a dung character, gaming frequently featured fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can create throwables from protagonist waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, this theme shows up extensively in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.
Despite its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already received notable recognition, including winning at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is ready now on Steam, with the final release set to launch on computers on November 19.
